And I will do anything for love!

Last year, there was a boy in the twins class, let's call him Denim. My sweet little L developed quite an infatuation for him. Denim, as it turns out, belongs to a family of Arizona State supporters. For most kindergartners, this wouldn't pose too much of a problem, but for our family, it was an issue to be reckoned with! Since my brother-in-law was, at the time, filling the role of star football player at The University of Arizona, we became die-hard UofA fans, and thus have to turn our nose up at anything ASU related. Since ASU is here in town, most people are ASU supporters (heck! Even Dave went to ASU law school!) and therefore, we have taken quite a bit of crap over our allegience. As a result, I have allowed my kids to "defend" themselves against the constant attacks. They boys, in particular, have become decent trash talkers. One day, B&L's teacher stopped my sister (who had her own set of twins in the same class...yes, poor teacher) and said we needed to have a talk with our kids. They were teasing a boy in the class because he likes ASU. As it turns out, the boy in question turned out to be Denim. A short time later, L was over at my sisters house playing and drawing and after she left, my sis found this drawing that she made for her true love. It just goes to show how far she is willing to go for love!

I think this particular crush has run its course. He isn't in their class this year, and so far, I haven't heard anything about him. I don't know. Maybe he was unwilling to accept her sacrifice!
