Reunion

We had a family reunion with my family over 4th of July weekend. It was lots of fun. We went up to my parents cabin up north. It felt so great to get out of this miserable heat. The weather was great, but mostly, it was fun to get to hang out with everyone. Of course, most of us live here, but both siblings that live out of state were able to come. The big surprise/treat was my baby sister Katy. She is currently going to school at BYU-I. No one knew she was coming until a day before, and even then, several people were still mighty surprised to see her. She just got accepted into the Nursing Program up there and so will be taking 4 straight semesters, so we don't know when she will be able to come down again, which made this trip that much sweeter. She had Winter semester off, so she was home that whole time, but had to leave just a week before all the little baby girl were born.

Here she is holding A for the first time.

KL proudly waving a flag she found.

Katy holding A and Ava together for the first time. Interestingly enough, Beth and I were commenting on how many pictures we have of people holding both girls. About the only people who haven't taken a picture with both girls is Beth and I!
Evelynne loves the babies! She is always asking if she can hold A.

My sisters!
Mary, Annie, Jill, Anna, Katy. We were so sad that Mariana couldn't come. She had to work. Julia was there, but had to leave before this picture. I really do feel lucky to have so many wonderful sisters! They are the best!

Sleepover

A few weeks ago, we had my niece Evelynne spend the night. It was her first time to try this. She was all over it until it was time to shut off the movie and got to sleep. That was when the tears began and she started saying she wanted to go home and see her mommy. I was able to pacify her on the couch telling her that after I got the baby to sleep, we would see what we could do. Thankfully, she fell asleep while I was putting the baby down. CK insisted on sleeping with her on the couch. I had to get up a few times that night with the baby. Each time, the girls had repositioned themselves in to funnier and funnier positions. I finally took this picture at about 5 am. CK is the one on the floor while Evelynne is stepping on her.

And She's Off!

This girl never ceases to make me laugh! She is at such a funny age. She really thinks she is older than she is and loves to act like it. Lately, she has decided that she needs to pack for a vacation. The first time she did this, she wandered around the house forever looking for a suitcase. When she didn't find one, she finally settled for the grocery bags. When I asked where she was going, she told me that "Twacey" was taking her to the "aiwpwane." (Tracey is my great friend in WI). This particular time, I think she was heading to CO. My sister that lives around the corner was there and when KL found that out, she said she had to go on the "aiwpwane" to see "Sam Bwown an Ty-yn" (Yesterday, when we were headed to our summer movie, she heard that Tyton would be joining us, "Oh! I yike Ty-yn. Dat's' a gweat idea! I yub (love) him readdy much!") . I get in quite a bit of trouble every time I try and put her things away. I have to be quite sneaky about it. If she sees me, she goes nuts. Even when I'm stealthy, she tends to start asking right away where her bags went. It sometimes takes me 2-3 days before I'm able to get them put a way! What a fun girl! We just love her.
